Minoxidil should be packaged in tightly closed bottles, protected from light and stored at room temperature. The substance undergoes degradation when exposed to light, with the degradation rate increasing at an acidic pH. Optimal stability is achieved at a pH of 4.5.

Degradation occurs rapidly in white bottles and in polypropylene packaging. The addition of sodium thiosulfate provides the most stabilizing effect for this preparation.
