Storage Advice for Lugol's Solution

The Formulaire National Français states that the product must be stored protected from light.

Lugol's solution should be stored in a hermetically sealed glass bottle with a conical glass stopper. This is because the liquid is corrosive and volatile iodine can escape through plastic containers. Following these guidelines allows the solution to be stored for several years.

A storage period of one month after opening the bottle has also been reported.
