Due to the high amount of ether in the composition of collodion, it is not possible to completely dissolve clobetasol propionate in it, especially not in the prescribed amount. However, this does not exclude the possibility that the ingredient can be suspended. An important point of attention is the extent to which the mixture can be shaken to homogeneously mix the precipitate with the vehicle.

As an alternative solvent, DMSO can be used, potentially diluted with 25% alcohol. The viscosity of this mixture can be increased with hydroxypropyl cellulose if desired.
